The Federal Government announced May 1 (Friday) as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s International Workers’ Day celebration.
Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola, who announced this, praised Nigerian workers for their resilience, patience and understanding, in particular for supporting the efforts of President Muhammad Buhari’s administration to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Aregbesola expressed optimism that the country’s economy would bounce back and be stronger after the COVID-19 experience, given the federal government’s various efforts to stabilize the economy.
He assured Nigerian employees that their commitment and patience would complement the efforts of the government and other stakeholders to ensure rapid control of the virus.
