Commissioner, Surajo Gatawa died in Sokoto

The Sokoto state government has confirmed the death of the commissioner of land and housing Surajo Gatawa.

The Sokoto state media assistant Muhammed Bello, disclosed that, he died on Sundayl, after observing Maghrib prayers.

A government statement said he died after a brief illness.

The cause of his death has not been announced, however.

The deceased, died at the age of 63, represented ‘Isa and Sabon Birni in the Federal Parliament between 1999-2007, and held the post of chairman of the New Birni Council after his retirement.

In two days Sokoto State lost a number of prominent people, including the former Minister of Health and the uncle of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
