Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua are hoping for the return of Odion Ighalo who is currently on loan at Manchester united as the Chinese super league is set to start in July.
Manchester united are looking to extend Ighalo’s loan spell for the rest of the season with the premier league resumption date not known because of the corona virus pandemic.
As it is at the moment, Shanghai Shenhua will only allow him to remain at the club if a permanent deal can be reached and Ighalo is currently valued by the club at about 20 million pounds.
It is known that Newcastle will be interested in signing Ighalo once the takeover is fully completed this summer.
Ighalo recently disclosed that there is no deal on offer yet as to making his loan spell permanent, inspite of Solskjaer hinting on making the deal permanent.
The Nigerian international has made an impressive start for United since his loan move from Shanghai Shenhua. He has made eight appearances and scored four goals for united before the suspension of the league.
It is understood that Ighalo has been offered a two year contract extension by his parent club which is valued at 400,000 pounds a week.
Ighalo’s current contract with the club expires by December 2022, but Shanghai Shenhua wants to keep him at club atleast by December 2024.
