Mosques and churches in Niger Republic to be opened after loosening a ban allowing Muslims and Christians the opportunity to hold their worship from Wednesday.

The Niger government said it had taken the initiative after finding out that the situation had begun to improve with the outbreak.

The government says, however, that disinfectants must be sprayed on mosques and churches before worshipers can use the facilities.

But the government says hotels and airports and the country’s borders will remain closed. Niger has 854 corona cases, with 47 deaths.
