The State police spokesman DSP Chidi Nwabuzor who confirmed the incident but had a slightly different version of what happened.

The suspect, knowing that the deceased had so much money in the bank, decided to lure him into the bush, especially on the specific land that he bought from him.
They reached the bush and he punched him with the key around the neck. The victim fell and he buried him in the same land. Nwabuzor said
The deceased’s brother is the one who reported the matter to the police on May 15.
Nwabuzor said the suspect is currently in police custody and is being questioned.
A man who was simply referred to as a coma was arrested on suspicion of hacking his cousin Lateef in the Auchi region of Edo Prefecture.
Facebook user Sheik Aliu Mahmood, who originally shared stories online, said that COMA was informed that Latfu was recently paid N2 million for selling part of the land.
To steal the money, Coma killed his cousin, took his ATM card, and planned to transfer the money to his account when he was arrested.
