Congress is investigating Nigerian security forces for the killing of civilians

The Nigerian House of Representatives has launched a probe into the killing of civilians allegedly by some security agencies in the implementation of lockdown regulations.

In some parts of the country people have often complained about the behavior of law enforcement officers and the bribe they take sometimes.

Even last month, the Human Rights Watch said the number of people killed by security forces, especially the police, has risen sharply.

Security agencies, for their part, said they are taking steps to stop the incident.

Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, from Plateau State, presented the bill to the House of Representatives.
