The Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Conservation Union has urged the state government to act quickly to find more young people and students streaming to the south.

Recently, videos of youths being trapped in trailers have been circulated in some parts of southern Nigeria, allegedly from the north, although no official confirmation has been made.

This is in spite of the state-imposed traffic ban by the Nigerian government and some other states aimed at curbing the spread of covid19.

Dr John Nwodo, president of the Nigerian Association, said there were concerns about how the authorities are tackling the problem.

He said he had spoken to some leaders in the north but no action had been taken.

“We are afraid that if the students are not well protected during when they were being transported they could be attacked by armed bandits.
