The National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria has pleaded with the Federal Government for schools to reopen nationwide for students that will sit for WAEC and NECO examination.
The National President of NAPTAN, Haruna Danjuma, said in an interview that the government can provide schools with safety medical equipment.
Danjuma pointed out that the association had agreed to put some measures in place such as the provision of face mask, hand sanitiser and washing basin in order to reduce the risk of the virus spreading among students.
He added that they the parents are bothered about the stay at home order as a result of the Covid19 pandemic. It has affected the scheduling of the school calendar and also affecting the children who are graduating from JJS 3 and SSS 3.
However, JAMB have already written their UTME while the children are awaiting their ‘O’ level result. It is the expected that WAEC will conduct their exams by June and July.
