A Councillor in Kano State have been arrested for the Diversion of Palliatives

The Anti-Corruption and Public Complaint Commission in Kano State has arrested the Kabuga ward councillor, Shehu Kabuga, of Gwale Local Government Area.

Mr. Shehu Kabuga was arrested for allegedly siphoning 116 Covid19 palliative forms mearnt for the vulnerable in the area.

The commission’s Director, Special Duties, Mallam Usman Bello, confirmed the arrest of Councillor Shehu Kabuga, and said that the Councillor. Have been released on administrative bail.

Mallam Bello noted that Mr. Shehu Kabuga will soon be arraigned before the court.

Also the Kano State government has inaugurated a committee to interfere with the coalition of Labour Union in the state over a 14 day ultimatum to refund illegal deduction from salaries in the month of May.

Mr. Kabiru Minjibir who is the NLC Kano state Chairman confirmed the establishment of the committee, he also disclosed that the meeting will hold this week.

One of the demands of the union is the immediate payment of April to November salary arrears to all levels of civil servants in the state according to the agreement the government reached back in December 2019, with the joint negotiating council.
