As at yesteday, nine death from coronavirus have been confirmed in Lagos State.
Professor Akin Abayomi, who is the state Commissioner for Health, disclosed on his twitter account yesterday, that the latest casualties from the total number of deaths recorded from coronavirus rose to 59 in the state.
He confirmed that 188 new covid19 cases were recorded in Lagos as at May 31st, 2020.
He went on to say the total number of confirmed covid19 cases in Lagos is now 4,959.
The Ministry of Health in Lagos state also said abayomi received a delegation from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) at his office in Ikeja.
Mr Abayomi mentioned some of the challenges the Lagos State government is facing in the fight against covid19.
Abayomi also told the delegation that Lagos would soon move to community/home based care for mild or moderate case of coronavirus.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, praised the effort of the state response team.
He said that Lagos State had continue to lead by example in the fight against covid19 and promised that the Federal Government support the state to contain the spread of the virus.
