Helen, who is a 300-level student at the University of Jos, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
It was understood that Helen, who is in the Department of Zoology was kidnapped by gunmen, who stormed the staff quaters of the of the Federal College of Land Resources Technology in the state, on Tuesday night.
An eyewitness who saw the incident said Helen and other members of her family, including their mother who was preparing to go bed when gun men attacked their residence at the staff quarters at around 8:30pm in Kuru community in Jos south.
An eyewitness who prefer to be anonymous, explained that forced their way into the house and hit Helen’s mother who happens to be an administrative staff of the college, with big sticks before before the kidnappers took Helen to an unknown location.
The eyewitness explained that they were in their house when they heard a voice around 8:30 outside and was asked to open the door. She said that five of them were in the house including her mother and her sister (Helen).
She continued that her mother demanded to know who was knocking but the voice insisted that she must open the door. She said that they started shooting and used a heavy stone to force their way into their house.
She narrated that the first thing the gunmen did was to take away their mobile phones and they threatened that if they make any move they will be killed.
She said the gun men ask her mother who her sister is and her mother replied that she was her daughter. Upon hearing this, the gun men demanded that they will take her away and a ransom will be paid for her release.
Ubah Ogaba, who is the spokesman for the plateau state police command could not be contacted on the matter.
Meanwhile, a source at the police headquarters expressed that the police have visited the staff quarters and they have commence investigation on the matter.
