A post graduate Pregnant woman, murdered in her room at University of Ibadan

Azeezat Shomuyiwa, a post-graduate student at Ibadan University, was murdered in her room on Friday morning by people who had not yet been identified.

The University Student Union confirmed the death of this woman, revealing that, contrary to reports, she was not raped, but hit with a heavy stone.

Shomuyiwa, according to the Student Union, was a PhD student at the Department of Social Work at the University’s Education Department and was supposed to be pregnant at the time of her death.

According to the statements of President Akeju G. Olusegun, University of Students of the University of Ibadan and Oladeja Olawunmi Abiodun, a public relations officer of the union, reported the case to the police, which initiated the investigation.

“This afternoon, the leaders of the student union visited the deceased’s residence. The neighbor confirmed that her head was hit by heavy stones, and there was no confirmation of any rape. However, the Nigerian police force is already under investigation under the order of Oyo State. The The State Police Commissioner also visited the incident.

 

“It was also confirmed that the deceased was seven months pregnant.

 

Executives of the Nigerian National Student Association (NANS) also attended the residence of the deceased and joined hands with the student union to ask Shomuyiwa Azeezat for justice.

“We hope that the perpetrators of this criminal act will be prosecuted as soon as possible when we demand that Azezat obtain justice.”
