Alleged rape: TV host, Uti Nwachukwu surrenders to police investigation



Uti Nwachukwu, a tv host on Jara, who was allegedly accused of by a twitter user, has given a written request to the inspector general of police, Muhammed Adamu, to begin an investigation into the allegation.

Nwachukwu, who stated he will surrender himself to the police to help in the investigation, also requested that the IGP should arrest the owner of the Twitter account for cyber crime if the allegation against him is false.

Refuting the rape allegation, Nwachukwu said that he was on his way to Houston, Texas, U.S, on August 5, 2017, which is the date in which the incident took place.

Uti, who is the winner of the fifth edition of big brother, filled his petition through his lawyers, John Mary C.Chideobi and Co., at the office of the IGP in Abuja on Friday.

His lawyer, Johnmary Chideobi, disclosed that his client emphatically refute all the allegations against him. Stated that Kambili Korie who wrote the tweet was lying and her allegations are baseless.

His lawyer said his client doesn’t know this person who has given this false claim.

He also stated that his client will give himself up regarding the investigation of the rape allegation.

But he said if his client is not found guilty of the alleged crime, then the person who gave the tweet should be arrested for slander under the existing laws.
