N2.7bn recovered from Okorocha have been returned to Imo State

The EFCC has promised that it will begin investigating former Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, after it has finished its investigation on him being accused of money laundering.

Meanwhile, the anti-graft agency has stated it had remitted N2.7 billion out of the N7.9 billion recovered from different bank accounts which is linked to Okorocha, to Imo state for the payment of workers pensions and salaries.

Mr. Imam Usman, the EFCC Portharcourt Zonal Head, mentioned this on Tuesday, during a mid year briefing of the activities of the Commission.

He said that properties which are worth billions of naira were discovered during the course of investigation and have been recovered by the Federal Government.

He said out of the 2.7 billion naira remitted back to the Imo State Government, Emeka Ehedioha, the immediate past governor got N2.5 billion as well as Hope Uzodinma who received N514 million naira in the month of May.
