Nothing Will Destroy China-Africa Relations – Chinese Foreign Ministry

Hua Chunyin, a spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said in Beijing on Friday that witnesses have shown that African countries have rejected any cause of disagreement with China.

Recently, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said his country was aware that China and the private sector had given unprecedented aid to African nations. China will lend money to African countries in the wrong way at the time of the COVID-19 epidemic, a trend that has left many African countries in debt.

In response to Pompeo’s remarks, Hua Chunying said, “China and African countries are like friends who have suffered together. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahammat, chairman of the AU Commission, has said that China and Africa are both friendly and cooperative, and that nothing can change or destroy the friendship between them. In fact, the measures taken by the Chinese-African community bear in mind that China-Africa friendship has reached the hearts of the people, and no one can at all.

Hua said that during the COVID-19 epidemic, China and Africa have supported each other and are fighting the disease together. More than 50 African leaders sent condolences and support to Chinese leaders. On the Chinese side, China has consistently contributed to a large number of epidemics, and has sent medical teams to African countries.

Finally, Hua stressed that African countries are now facing challenges in different areas. China hopes its key stakeholders will focus on helping African countries fight the epidemic and respect African people.
