President Muhammadu Buhari said that though the nation’s service chiefs are trying hard to solve the problem of insecurity in Nigeria, their efforts however is not good enough.
He has told them that he will henceforth not accept their excuses and is only interested in them improving the security situation in the country.
Major General Babagana Monguno, National Security Adviser, quoted Buhari as saying he expects his security chiefs to live up to expectation by improving the security situation in the country.
With the increasing cases of insecurity in Nigeria, groups and individuals have made calls for the president to change his service chiefs, some of whom he has extended their tenure.
There have been protest in Katsina recently regarding the security situation in the state and the way the state government and security agencies have handled issues of banditry and insurgency with laxity.
