The two rival of the APC on Thursday continued their battle for the position of the party chairmanship.
Victor Giadom, the APC Deputy National Secretary, announced himself as the party’s National Chairman after the Court of Appeal suspended the incumbent Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday got a court order confirming him ad the acting party National Chairman. The High Court of the FCT, which issued the latest order, also ordered Giadom to head the subsequent party national meetings.
But the pro Oshiomhole faction led by Biola Ajimobi started consultation with the APC stakeholders in the South-South with the hope of replacing Giadom as the Deputy National Secretary.
It also went in to establish it’s primary and appeal committees for the Edo State governorship elections.
The leadership issue in the APC started on Tuesday when the court of appeal sitting in Abuja upheld the verdict of the FCT High Court, which suspended Oshiomhole as the party Chairman.
Also on Tuesday night, the APC National Working Committee held an emergency meeting, of which Ajimobi, who is currently receiving treatment for Covid19 in a hospital in Lagos, was appointed as the APC party Chairman.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday Morning, Giadom, who claim to have a court order given to him by the FCT high court, announced himself as the acting National Chairman.
15 NWC members headed by the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Hillard Eta, a few hours later disowned Giadom and confirmed Ajimobi as the acting National Chairman.
