The Nasarawa State University Keffi has set 160 marks as it’s JAMB cut off point for the 2020/2021 admission.
This outcome was made public by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed when he hosted members of the House Committee on Education Science and Technology who were on oversight function to the University.
He said the decision to keep the cut-off mark at 160 was to offer more indigenes of the state the opportunity to gain admission into the University, he told the house committee members that the University will also commence admission into Medicine, Engineering, and Architecture programmes in the next academic session commencing in 2020/ 2021.
The Vice Chancellor also took time out to intimate the members on the progress the University had made in terms of infrastructural development, the 2019/2020 admission exercise which had been concluded, staff deficits and the financial status of the University amid the corona virus pandemic.
Responding on behalf of the other members, chairman of the committee Honorable Daniel Ogah Ogazi remarked that they are very satisfied with happenings and developments in the University which he described as the single largest industry in Nasarawa State, he further informed that they are on oversight duties to see for themselves progresses made, and to find out ways of remedying challenges through effective and proper legislation. He further assured that the House of Assembly will make critical legislations that will further the cause of the University and make it a 21st Century centre of learning excellence.
The Vice-Chancellor and principal officers of the University later took members of the committee on a guided tour to the newly constructed ICT Complex, The Ultra Modern Printing Press, The completed Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Digital Library, modernized 1000 capacity Auditorium, renovated Hall and classroom blocks at the Pyanku Campus.
The visit ended with an inspection of the Gudi campus which will accommodate the newly established Faculty of Engineering.
