Isreal Famurewa, the Chairman of the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, said that they will speed up the process of implementing the reviewed reclassification policy of government owned schools in the state.
During a press briefing on Sunday, he said they are currently making sure that the new policy is implemented when schools reopen after the Covid19 break.
In a statement, Mr. Famurewa said that top officials participated in the concluding part of the information gathering and physical assessment exercise of nine federal constituencies in the state.
Based on his statements, he said the review was targeted towards restoring the 6-3-3-4 reclassification system in which each level of education will get back to its earlier class make-up.
It was reported that the Osun State Government has approved the changing of the single school uniform, the implementation of the conventional single sex schools and reclassification of public schools earlier established by the Rauf Aregbesola’s administration.
It was approved based on the recommendations of Olu Aina led panel, which was inaugurated to review the review the educational policies of the past administration.
He stated that the implementation of the recommendations of the review on Osun State’s educational policy gave reasons for the information gathering and physical assessment of schools for takeoff.
Fameruwa expressed that there is need to speed up the process of carrying out the review on the education policy in order not to incurs unnecessary logistics in place of school resumption.
