Two people killed in Bauchi Tanker Explosion

At Azare, the headquarters of Katagun Local Government Area of Bauchi State has seen a tanker explosion killed two people.

It was reported that the incident happened at 3am in the morning when the tanker was offloading its content at a fuel filling station in the town when the explosion killed two people.

A source disclosed that the tanker was leaving town when a cable fell on it which initiated the explosion and went up in flames, an incident that resulted in confusion in the town, making people to run out of their homes for safety.

The source also stated that the accident happened at the First Bank roundabout along the General Hospital Road in the town of Azaure town.

The source said it was during the time people were running for their lives that two people who were trapped in the tanker which was said to be the driver and the motor boy were burnt to death. Their dead bodies was said to have been moved and kept at the General Hospital morgue.

DSP Wakil, the Police Public Relations officer, Bauchi State command when contacted affirmed the accident.

Meanwhile, he explained that the driver didn’t die but only got injuries and are currently getting treatment.

The PRO stated that the two people who died from the incident were among those running for safety when the taker exploded.

Wakili confirmed that there was a case of an accident which resulted from a tanker explosion which in the process two people were found dead while two others sustained serious injury.
