EMIR OF DAURA, KATSINA STATE CONDEMNS BANDITRY, SAYS NIGERIA HAS EXPERIENCE WORSE THAN CIVIL WAR
The Emir of Daura, Katsina State, Dr. Umar Farouk Umar expressed his worries on the insecurity challenges experienced in the nation particularly the northwestern part of the country which is characterized by banditry.
The Emir disclose this on Monday 29th June, 2020, while receiving the Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Buratai on a visit to his palace. Dr. Umar said what Nigerians are going through right now is more than what was experienced in the civil war. He further calls on religious and political leaders across the nation and most especially in the affected region to intensify prayers and modalities curb security issues just like it was done during the civil war.
The Emir employs Buratai to use the civil war approach to put an end to the rising insecurity challenges in the North West and other parts of the country. In response to the Emir’s request,, the Chief of Army Staff Reiterated his readiness and his men (the Nigerian Army) to handle the security problems in the country with more emphasis in the north west and other parts of the country.
Similarly, the Governor of the state Governor Aminu Bello Masari ask Buratai to maintain the pace at which his men fights against the activities of bandits in the state and in the entire north east region, the Governor made this known when he received Buratai at the state house on Monday 29th June, 2020.
It was gathered that the Chief of Army Staff was in Katsina State to coordinate the ongoing operation in Rugu forest and other parts of the state.
