FG forms NDE recruitment committee of 774,000 Nigerians

The Federal Government has formed the State’s Selection Committed on Extended Special Public Works for the recruitment of 774,000 Nigerians to be employed under the scheme.

A statement given by the government on Tuesday, said the formation of the committees was organized by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo in Abuja.

Keyamo noted that the committee would be given the task to identity and recruit 1000 candidate from each of the 774 Local Government Areas in the country.

He said the the will identify any public project to be implemented in each of the Local Government Areas in all the states, together with already identified projects by several federal ministries and agencies across the country.

The Minister said that the Federal Government would engage the employed persons for three months, which is to run from October to December 2020, in urban and rural sanitisation, health extension, road construction and other services.

The Minister said that Nigerians who will be employed under the scheme, would be paid 60,000 per month.

The Minister has ordered the committee to visit the various sectors in their different states to recruit prospective candidates that are eligible.

He noted that the names and phone numbers of members of the committee would be made known to the public for Nigerians to easily access them.

In attendance during the inauguration if the committee was the Director General, National Directorate of Employment, Dr Nasiru Argungu, the Chairmen and Secretaries of the state selection committees.
