Fire has burned Ajao market in the Ajao area of Lagos State. It was understood that the incident began at 1am on Wednesday.
However, no fact has been established on the cause if the fire outbreak, it learnt the fire started around a shopping mall close to the market and had burn into the main Ajao market.
Goods worth millions of naira have said to have been lost as the fire had affected some nearby buildings and made the residents run for safety.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and other Emergency responder, like fires Service, and men of the Nigeria Police Force was in the scene to manage the situation.
The spokesman for LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, while affirming the incident, disclosed that no casualty was recorded.
He said that the fire outbreak started around 1am but they were there already. He said from the way things are, the Ajao Main Market has a small shopping mall and from what they were told, the fire started from the shopping mall and moved to the main market and it affected some nearby buildings.
Meanwhile, the LASEMA Response Team and other stakeholders, which include the Lagos State Fire Service and the police were already on ground to quench the fire. He said that for now no casualty was recorded.
