Governor of Abia State recovers from coronavirus

The Abia State govenment in a statement said the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has recovered from coronavirus.

John Kalu, who is the State Commissioner for Information, made the declaration on Saturday, saying that the Governors sample submitted for testing on Friday, came back negative.

He wrote, ” Glory be to God, a Covid19 test carried out by NCDC on the sample submitted by Governor Ikpeazu on Thursday, 2nd of July, 2020, came back with a negative result on Friday, 3rd of July, 2020.

Governor Ikpeazu has therefore been cleared of the virus according to the guidelines of NCDC and the World Health organisation, (WHO).

It was previously reported that the Governor had tested positive for the virus and had immediately gone into isolation.

According to NCDC statistics on Friday night, Abia State has registered 382 cases including 207 recoveries and three deaths.
