Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Osun State, disclosed on Friday that the administration of the state will not be hampered by his current health status.

The Osun State Governor, who of recent tested positive for Covid19, has been quarantined and directed his commissioners alongside his aides to all take the test.

The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ajogo, stated that though the governor may be in self isolation, but it does not affect his duties to run the state.

He was quizzed if the governor will prefer to handover responsibilities to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, the commissioner mentioned that no such plan is in place, noting that the governor is still able to carryout his duties.

He said the Governor may be in isolation but it doesn’t mean that he is grounded. He said the governor is still working while in isolation, so the state cannot be grounded.

He stated that the governor can’t handover his responsibilities to his deputy as his deputy has left governance and such a responsibility cannot be given to such an individual.

He further stated that they aren’t worried, as handing over is not what they would consider at the moment as the governor himself is still strong to work.

He expressed his displeasure over the continuous increase in Covid19 cases in the state, he said no stone will be left unturned in the fight against the virus, saying that the government has invested heavily in the fight against coronavirus.
