Stakeholders show readiness as schools in Oyo resume

All stakeholders in the education sector in Oyo State have are ready to follow the order on resumption of school after many months of school closure.

Olasunkanmi Olaleye, State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, in a statement on Sunday announced that primary and secondary school students in final year classes would resume school today.

Olaleye said the government has made all the arrangement to make sure that students and teachers are safe.

The Proprietor of Josabig Group of Schools, Ibadan, Pastor Olaluwa Adewale, spoke that before resumption, meetings were held between private primary and secondary schools, along with training in coronavirus safety measures which was organised under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Oyo State.

He stated that they were required to make sure that students come to school with face mask and while other measures should implemented like physical distancing, provision of running water and infrared temperature range.

A parent, Mrs Banks Abifarin, expressed her satisfaction with the measures being put in place as far as they will be strictly adhered to.

Nike Adebayo, who is a SS3 student said her class mates were delighted about the resumption.
