Ahead of the September gubernatorial election in Edo state, chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s campaign council, the governor of Rivers State his excellency Nyesome Wike, has assured the people that the act of rigging and vote buying which is the normal habit in Nigerian election will not work this time.
Mr. Wike, disclosed this in a video which has gone viral while addressing members of the council, and also reacting to the statement credited to the governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje, which he promised of isolating the former until APC wins the election.
In the video, Wike, alleged that APC made Ganduje their campaign chairman because of the dollars they saw him stocking inside his babariga, but he affirmed that Niger Deltans are smart people, hence they would collect the money and still do the needful.
It would be recalled that governor Ganduje, who is the chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC, said, he would isolate governor Nyesome Wike of the PDP until his party emerged victorious in the election.
The incumbent governor of Edo state Mr Godwin Obaseki, who is seeking his reelection into office for the second tenure under the platform of the PDP, is set to battle pastor Iyamu of the APC come September as citizens go out to vote their next governor for the next 4 years.
