Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and publicity, on Wednesday said the allegation against the Vice President receiving N4 billion from the suspended Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu is not true.

The reports had claim that that Ibrahim Magu told the panel interrogating him that he gave Osinbanjo N4 billion after the Vice President has asked him to give part of the recovered loot.

Meanwhile, Akande in a statement told journalists that the report was false and has no bases.

In the statement, the Senior Special Assistant said the report was fabricated and completely absurd in all respect.

He said it was so sad that mindless, reckless and vicious publications have become the likely tool of deceitful elements who have been bribed to give false news in order to destroy the image of the Vice President.

Akande said the Vice President will not be distracted by the slanderer. He said the online publication which had posted the fake news, have bee reported to the relevant authorities and for necessary actions to be taken.
