SARS Forced detainees to pay Bribe to avoid being tortured

The SARS operations in Nigeria has increased a mayhem of corruption and extortion in recent times. It was gathered by Tropics.ng that SARS coerce suspects to CONFESS. Every suspect has right to remain silent until his lawyer is present.

Amnesty international (Nigeria) said in a tweet addressing the issue.

SARS is a danger to NIGERIA – Amnesty Nigeria.

Atrocities committed by #SARS

  • Torture and ill-treatment of suspects.
  • Extortion and stealing from suspects.
  • Targeting young people based on their looks or gadgets they use.
  • Intervening in civil matters.
  • Poor and inhumane detention conditions.

A certain Mr. James O. Nwafor (whose picture appears below), is said to be have been the O.C. and a member of SARS at Awkuzu, Anambra State, in 2012, and is alleged to have either killed or knows the whereabout of one Iloanya Chijioke John.
