Sexual harassment bill passes third reading

The sexual harassment bill, 2020 has passed third reading on the floor of the senate. The bill looks to avert ill intentions towards women.

In Nigeria, there have recently been a surge in the cases of rape, most especially the case of late Uwa, who was a student in the University of Benin, UNIBEN, along with other high profile cases across the country.

Just recently, a C.A.C pastor was reported by the police for sexually abusing her daughter, impregnating her thrice with her forced by her father abort her pregnancy. The pastor is currently in police custody.

Nigerians have all gave their opinion on the rape epidemic, with some suggesting death penalty should be given to rapist.
Some of the perpetrators of such crimes have been punished with other offenders being sentenced by hanging.
