The Nigerian Army have debunked reports which claims that 386 soldiers have left the army.
In a statement issued by the Nigerian Army headquarters, it says ” fake and mischievous news stories by supporter of Boko Haram designed to dampen the morale of gallant and patriotic soldiers.”
It says ” the 386 soldiers who left the army, disengaged in a normal routine exercise at the end of their service. The Nigerian Army is not in short supply of Nigerians willing to join its ranks of which a large proportion opted to go into the special forces fighting terrorism”.
Attacks by the Bokoharam insurgents have been escalating with the splinter group, ISWAP, killing civilians in villages of Borno State.
