Edo PDP Strategised on How to Handle Campaigns amidst COVID 19 Pandemic

The Edo State publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chris Nehikhare sheds more light on the modalities to adopt for its party’s campaigns in the state due to Corona virus pandemic which will make it difficult if not almost impossible.

According to the Sun news,  Nehikhare said the party desires to have a campaign where they will show case some of the qualities of the Governor saying  that the PDP meant well for the state and the country at large.

In Nehikhare’s words “Now, the campaigns have indeed started and because of the COVID 19 protocol in place, we have to be very careful not to put at risk the citizens of Edo State who are the ones who are going to vote for us on the election”.

He said the party campaign is going to be different from the past elections which is characterized by mobilization of people from different locations within the state, singing and dancing, saying this time around it will be in a smaller environment  with social distancing and face masking taken care of.

Still on Edo politics, Nehikhare made it clear that the PDP will take advantage of modern communication devices and the social media to reach out to the electorates bearing in mind the majority of the people who are rural dwellers.

Nehikhare also said he would not reveal; the strategy the party will adopt for its campaigns but that the normal door – to – door and face – to – face campaigns will be among its strategies. He also expressed the commitment of the PDP in winning the lection and also making the lives of the Edo people better.

Finally, the Secretary says it is still designing a model that will be used in the upcoming campaigns and the strategy will be revealed whenever the State’s campaign committee is unveiled.
