On Thursday the National Boxing promotional company, Golden Boy, has announced the passing away of boxer, Travell Mazion, who died aged 24.
Golden Boy described him as a “charismatic and kind young man who lit up every room he walked into and brought excitement to fans inside the ring.”
The CEO of Golden Boy, Oscar de La Hoya, via social media, expressed his sadness over the death of the 24 year old boxer.
According to Oscar de La Hoya, he said, “I am still in disbelief,” the Boxing Hall of Famer and executive tweeted. ” you left us far too soon! Nice, young man with all the talent in the world. Not only did our sport take a huge hit with losing you but the world lost a good one. You are forever Golden. My heart & prayers are with you & your family champ.”
The late boxer who is also known as black magic, was reported to have died in a car crash in Texas on Wednesday. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the late boxer was travelling in his Cardillac STS around 9:40 pm.
It explained that he crossed the median into an oncoming traffic and hit the rear quarter panel of a Nissan Sentra car and enventually collided with a Honda Pilot which led to the death of the boxer at the scene of the accident. It was said that the police are still unable to confirm why he lost control.
The driver of the Honda Pilot, a 61 year old man, was rushed to the hospital but sadly the police announced that he was dead at a hospital close by.
