El-Zakzaky and Zeenat, his wife have for long been detained by the Nigerian Government since 2015 after his followers were killed in Kaduna State during a procession.
It was gathered that the Kaduna State High Court of Justice will hear an appeal put forward by the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, El Zakzaky, to request the court to dismiss the case against by the Federal Government because of its failure to prove that he was guilty of the incident back in 2015.
The wife of El-Zakzaky, Zeenat, was also detained in 2015 after hundred of his followers were killed by the Nigerian Army back in 2015.
El-Zakzaky lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has for long requested the court to drop the charges against him since the Federal Government could not provide proof of his guilt and he was illegally detained which he stated that such move by the Federal Government is contrary to Section 36 (8) and (12) of the 1999 constitution as amended.
Falana has requested the court to free his client, El-Zakzaky, whom he said has suffered various health problems as a result of his incarceration.
