Ojo Amos Emerges National Assembly Clerk Following NASC Appointments

His appointment comes as a result of the directives issued by the commission on Wednesday 15th July, 2020 asking those who have attained the age of 60 or have served for 35 years to go on mandatory retirement.

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has approved the appointment of Mr. Ojo Amos as its Acting Clerk.

In a press statement duly signed by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Engr. Ahmad Kadi Amshi, FNSE and made available to newsmen on 17th July, 2020 in Abuja, the National Assembly Service Commission has approved the appointment of Ojo Amos as the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly. National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has approved the appointment of Mr. Ojo Amos as its Acting Clerk.

His appointment comes as a result of the directives issued by the commission on Wednesday 15th July, 2020 asking those who have attained the age of 60 or have served for 35 years to go on mandatory retirement.

Others appointed by the National Assembly Service Commission includes:

  • Bala Yabani Mohammed – Acting Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly
  • Dauda Ibrahim El – Ladan – Acting Clerk Senate
  • Yusuf Asir Danbatta – Acting Secretary to the National Assembly Service Commission
  • Patrick .A. Giwa – To remain Clerk, House of Representatives pending his retirement in November, 2020.

It could be recalled that the Commission held an emergency meeting on Friday 17th July, 2020 hence at the end of the meeting approved the appointments of the above senior management staff.
