The Kano State Gubernatorial candidate under the platform of People Redemption Party, PRP in 2019 General elections Malam Salihu Sagir Takai has ultimately announced publicly his defection from People Redemption Party, (PRP) to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
It could be recalled that Tropics Nigeria News has on Sunday reported that Mallam was willing to decamp to either the opposition or ruling party.
In which the report narrated Takai citing some reasons why he defected to PRP, through his Media aide, who had an interview with Nigerian Tracker, an onlinebased Medium in Kano.
And so finally two days after, Takai anounced his defection, and this was confirmed by his Media aide Abdullahi Musa Hunguma on Tuesday.
According to Hunguma, Their defection was on the popular views of Stakeholders of Takai Support Organization after having due consultations, adding that it was on resolution of the Support Group that, Malam Takai accepted the verdict in the Group.
Abdullahi added that, Takai is in APC as an ordinary member and that has dumped PRP with his entire bunch of Supporters in all the 44 local governments of the State, further explaining that he has not defected to contend any post in the party.
“Mallam Salihu didn’t defect to APC to vie for any post, but whatever the situation warranted it, is not for us to decide, however Mallam will be law-abiding member to the party’s rules and regulations as well as the leadership of the party in the State, as usual, Mallam Salihu is respecting the will and aspiration of his followers by decamping to (APC).” Said Hunguma.
