The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria reached 43,151 on Friday, July 31, according to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
In a statement on its Twitter feed, the NCDC said an additional 462 people had been infected that day.
According to the agency, of the 43,151 people infected, 19,565 people recovered and were discharged from the hospital while 879 people died.
The commission said the increase was from 16 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 93 people, followed by Lagos State with 78, 64 in Plateau and 54 in Kaduna.
Other states include Oyo-47, Ondo-32, Adamawa-23, Bauchi-19, Rivers-9, Ogun-9, Delta-9, Edo-7, Kano-6, Enugu-6, Nasarawa-5, Osun. -1.
