INEC has created a site for direct election monitoring



The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has launched a website that will allow citizens to track the counting of ballots from home.

In a Twitter message posted on its website, the commission said the site was created to promote transparency in the electoral process.

INEC said it was aware that many citizens were skeptical about the conduct of the elections. It said that the website is aimed at resolving cases where there is conflicting results.

It said the website will be used in the by-elections in Narasawa State on Saturday, August 8, 2020. It said it will also be used in the upcoming Edo State governorship election which is slated to hold in September.
