Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has pleaded guilty to violating Covid-19 lockdown restrictions when he traveled to Abuja to perform.

The singer and his manager were detained in June for traveling during the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria.

They were each fined N100,000 for the offense in court on Thursday.

At the time of the incident, the Minister of Aviation suspended the airline that was taking them from Lagos to Abuja, but the airline was later allowed to resume operations.
