Sevilla ended United hopes of winning a trophy and having the chance of qualifying for the champions league as Sevilla edged United in a hard fought Europa League semi-final in Cologne.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have now lost their third semifinal this season after taking lead when Bruno Fernandez scored a spot kick 9 minutes into the game.

Sevilla who are now regarded as a Europa League specialist, pulled one back before the end of half time when former Liverpool forward, Suso put in a calm finish past de Gea into the far corner.

United hopes looks to be sealed after they spurned a host of chances early in the second half as Sevilla keeper Yassine Bounou produced a series of saves from Man Utd striker, Anthony Martial.

At the end Sevilla secured their final spot of the Europa League when Luuk de Jong scored from a Jesus Navas cross with 12 minutes to go in the game, It then looks like United were punished over a string of poor defending which eventually led to confrontations between Fernandes and Victor Lindelof.
