She made the announcement on her Twitter account, which she says is due to be out on the 2nd of October this year. The album features a black and white portrait of her.
She said “This one is for you, my fans,” she captioned the post. “It’s to celebrate us, and to thank you for years of pure love and support. I am so grateful to you.”
She also disclosed that her first single from her forthcoming album will be released on Friday August 21. The title of the song is called, ‘Save the Day’, which Carey recoded with Lauryn Hill.
Unreleased tracks, demos and B-sides of the singer’s established career are other materials that will be included in the ‘Rarities’ album.
The announcement of her album comes after Carey shared a rare archive of her songs to celebrate her 30 years in the music industry.
