On Thursday, the Kano State Police Command uncovered a woman’s corpse allegedly locked up for three days in a room by her husband.

The development comes a day after a 55-year-old man reportedly confined by his family to a solitary room for 30 years has been rescued by police in Kano.
Ahmad Aliyu, a 32-year-old man, was also rescued by police on August 13 after his father and stepmother had locked him up in a room for 3 years.
Aliyu, a Farawa Babban Layi resident in Kano’s Mariri Quarters of Kumbotso Local Government Area, was said to have been chained and caged after his parents accused him of drug abuse. Neighbors found the body, which had already started to decompose, which alerted police to the case.
