Jacob Blake, unarmed, tried to stop a fight. When the police arrived, he was driving home with his children. He was shot 7 times from behind after he tried to break up a fight between two women, while his children were watching.

The shooting took place at about 5 pm local time as police reacted to an “incident at home.”

Two police officers steer Mr. Blake towards an SUV in an upsetting video shared on social media.

Upon opening the door one of them shoots him in the back then.

Mr. Blake’s kids have apparently been inside the car and seen their dad fired on.

Before being tasered he tried to break up a confrontation between two women, the Kenosha News reports.

According to social media accounts, protesters then gathered at the scene and hurled bricks and Molotov cocktails at police.

Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin tweeted: “We condemn the disproportionate use of force and rapid escalation when interacting with the Black Wisconsinites.”

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside a police station in Kenosha to shout “Black Lives Matter”

Demonstrators set cars on fire and smashed windows of police cruisers as cops set off tear gas canisters.
