Kano State Government has approved the employment of 60 Qur’anic teachers (Alarammas) as facilitators for the 15 Almajiri Integrated Schools in the state with immediate effectas part of Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s effort to integrate almajiri the state’s system of basic education.
The State Governor gave the approval on Monday and that followed a correspondence submitted by the State Qur’anic & Islamiyya Schools Management Board through the Commissioner of Education Mal. Muhammad Sanusi S. Kiru.
Ganduje said the employment further demonstrates his administration genuine commitment to eradicating street begging.
Ganduje said the schools are provided with basic facilities such as toilets, dormitories and an integrated Curriculum that would enable the Almajiri pupils to memorise the Holy Qur’an and get basic education requirements in a decent and secured environment.
It was also reported by Solacebase, that the 60 Qur’anic teachers are to be posted to the three (3) new Almajiri Boarding Schools located at Bunkure, Kanwa in Madobi LG and Kiyawa in Bagwai Local Government in addition to the existing twelve (12) across the 44 LGs.
