Dr Akinwunmi Adesina has been re-elected as the President of African Development Bank, AfDB, for a second tenure of 5 years.
Adesina, who was reelected unopposed, formally requested for a second term as AfDB president, he said he was “doing it with an acute sense of duty and commitment. I do it to serve Africa and our bank, in an unbiased way, to the best of the abilities that God has given me.”
Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina who was charged for corruption in the affairs of AfDB was later cleared of all charges.
The election was by a double majority from the regional and non regional countries 100% of Regional and 100% of Non Regional Votes.
