Liverpool to face Arsenal in the Community Shield, plus team news

English Premier League Champions, Liverpool will play against F.A Cup winners, Arsenal today at the Webley Stadium by 4:30pm local time.

Liverpool who last season lost to Man City will have the opportunity to win their first silverware of the season against a confident Arsenal side that beat Chelsea in last season’s FA Cup final.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is also eyeing his first silverware of the season as they look open the English top flight season.

Alexander Arnold could feature in the starting line up as he looks set to win his fitness race for Liverpool’s Community Shield meeting with Arsenal this afternoon.
The defender was out of the Reds preseason training camp in Austria due to a minor injury compliant.

Virgil van Dijk who had an injury above his eye during Liverpool’s final pre-season friendly against RB Salzburg in a 2-2 draw looks ready to be in the starting line up.

However, a number of players will be missing from Liverpool’s squad becuase of fitness concerns, they include; Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri, Harry Wilson and Divock Origi.

Meanwhile, Saliva, David Luiz, Kieran Tierney, Bukayo Saka, Aubemayang and Cedric Soares are some of the players likely to start for Arsenal. Arsenal’s new signing, Willian is in contention to be in the starting line up.
