Digital marketing in Nigeria is now the order of the day in our day-to-day marketing activities. Our phones and computers help us achieve this aim of digital marketing via the internet.
It’s said that we are in a “computer age” and of course it’s true as every grown up individual you see today in Nigeria has a phone or computer that will help him or her access the internet.
The internet we know shows us the world the latest trends around the globe as it relates to marketing of products and services. Most of the sellers or traders in Nigeria use digital marketing to advertise their goods via the internet such as Amazon, Google and other E-Commerce sites, through their blogs, or through their social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for the public to see.
The number of different local online businesses owned by different people has increased massively recently in Nigeria, some of the popular ones includes: Jumai, Konga, Jiji, etc. Although, the ones mentioned here have been operating for some years now. As Digital Marketing grows and will continue to grow in Nigeria so will its potentials.
One of the potentials of digital marketing in Nigeria is that it will create awareness to the public about all or majority of goods being sold in Nigeria and also services to render via the internet. Majority of Nigerians have access to the internet which will make it easier for them to have the knowledge of existing goods and services when they are advertised on the internet and social media.
Another vital potential of digital marketing in Nigeria is that it makes purchasing of goods and services more convenient, since we can order for goods (either you pay online or pay on delivery) and services online from the comfort of your home and the goods will be delivered to your door step.
It’s evident that the world is changing as change is constant in life. This change is also present in making of online payment for goods bought and services rendered.
Also the use crypto-currencies such as Bitcoin, Etherum Forsage, and Tron are now in use as an alternative to physical cash. Cryptocurrency is becoming common as plenty people in Nigeria have now venture into investing on cryptocurrency and owning its wallet online. In the near future in Nigeria, the means of payment when a transaction is made online will soon shift from “hard currency” to “cryptocurrency”. It’s glaring that “Digital Currency or Cryptocurrency” complements “Digital Marketing” as they seem to work hand in hand. Therefore, digital marketing in Nigeria has a potential of accepting cryptocurrency as a means of payment for online transactions.
Also another potential is that when you are advertising your goods and services online, a lot of people will be able to see your goods and you will also spend little or nothing or nothing when running your advert most especially if traffic to your website is high. Unlike our traditional way of marketing our product were you are able to advertise your goods to a limited number of people and in the process spend more in running adverts on television or doing jingles on the streets. On the Internet people will be able to see your products all over the world and this will potentially earn you more money as so many people will be willing to buy when they are convinced on the quality of products you put out.
Digital Marketing in Nigeria has a lot of potentials that we are not aware of or even have a foresight of. As Digital Marketing in Nigeria continues to grow so will be the potential to benefit others.
