Two suspects were arrested by the Hisbah Commando in Jigawa for an alleged homosexual act in the Dutse Municipal Administrative District (LGA) of the state.

The suspects, aged 32 and 20, who were identified only as Adamu and Tijjani, were arrested in a hotel in Dutse after being heard in a dispute over money.

The Hisbah commander of the state, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, said

“Today, on September 2, our staff succeeded in arresting two people in connection with an alleged homosexual act in Dutse.

“A 32-year-old man, simply identified as Adamu, living in the Unguwa Uku neighborhood in Kano State, invited his 20-year-old friend, simply identified as Tijjani, from the Garkuwar Sarki neighborhood in Sokoto State.

“They perfected their plans to meet via Facebook, whereupon Tijjani came down on the basis of an agreement that he would be paid N50,000 after the crime. “They stayed in a hotel and spent the night together.

“Adamu could not give his guest the promised N50,000. And that’s when they started to fight until the people in the area overheard them and informed our staff who immediately went to the scene of the crime and arrested them.

The suspects who confessed to the crime would be transferred to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
