Some candidates who successfully completed the online police registration process for recruitment and underwent a physical check have been stranded after the Benue State Police Command suspended the process and threatened to abort.

Tropical Nigeria learned that affected candidates in the Ogbadibo local government area were prevented from participating in the checkpoint.

It became known that the police authority, which gave no reason for the action, promised not to investigate the local government candidates.

The officers gassed the candidates with tear gas and threw them out of the area.

Most of them, who came from other states such as Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, and several other states, are now stranded in the state.
