A passenger bus took a train on Monday in the PWD area of Lagos. The accident occurred around 8:15 am.
There were six people in the vehicle, but nobody was killed.
Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, general director of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, said the bus had been directed to the train tracks.
“A six-passenger GGE 972 GE passenger locomotive collided with the train tracks while crossing the PWD tracks at Oshodi and then collided with a scheduled passenger transport train.
“The bus was dragged over a distance before the train reached a complete stop. The agency managed to free the passengers and found that there were no deaths,” he said.
The officer called on all drivers to obey traffic rules to avoid deaths, injuries, and delays in transportation.
Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that the remains of the bus had been removed to allow the free flow of traffic.
